MAVERICK This beautiful creature was found wandering, yes wandering in the desert apparently just dropped off in the middle of nowhere and abandoned by his owner. But his story gets worse. Maverick has suffered a broken lower jaw on the left side which not only has caused significant dental pathology, but he is also unable to close his mouth and his tongue is unable to be contained. Upon his rescue Maverick was 250 lbs. underweight and both his left and right hind legs had severe rope burns. He also suffers from mild ventral mid line edema. Friends this is a classic case of abuse that my rescues have had to endure prior to life at Forever Free Horse Rescue. The thing that is perhaps the most unbelievable is Maverick is the sweetest, most gentle soul, and he is wiling to give me the chance to care for and love him. His abuser was human, yet he sees beyond that fact and chooses to love me and allow me to help him. Friends, there are no adequate words to describe this kind of trust. All I can say is Maverick knows he is finally home!
